Sweden, Finland to join NATO soon

Brussels, The process of joining two more European countries Sweden and Finland in NATO has started in the midst of the more than 130-day war between Ukraine and Russia. Keep in mind that Russia has attacked Ukraine only in the fear of joining NATO. In the midst of the war, 30 NATO allies in Brussels on Tuesday signed accession protocols for Sweden and Finland. Membership requests of both its countries were sent to the capitals of NATO countries for legislative approval.

Significantly, in February, Russia attacked its neighbor Ukraine, due to which resentment towards Russia increased in Europe and the countries of NATO and the European Union began to isolate it. The inclusion of countries in NATO is part of this effort. After this first, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said – this is a truly historic moment for Finland, Sweden and NATO.

Stoltenberg said about this – it is a good day for Finland and Sweden and NATO. Now with 32 member countries, we will be stronger. Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde said – We are very grateful for the support of our allies. We are confident that our membership will strengthen NATO and enhance stability in the Euro-Atlantic region. After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Sweden and Finland decided to leave the policy of non-alignment and join NATO.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Russia has declared to win a major war in the eastern part of Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin greets Russian soldiers after the Russian army’s capture of the city of Lisichansk in Luhansk. Putin said – the soldiers who were involved in the capture of Lisichansk should rest and better themselves for the war. On the other hand Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised to regain all lost territory, including the city of Lisichansk, after Russia’s control of the entire Luhansk region.
