India vs New Zealand, Trent Boult Dropped Suryakumar Yadav Catch: In the first match of the three-match T20 series against New Zealand, Team India defeated the Kiwi team by five wickets. Suryakumar Yadav was the hero of this victory of India. He played a match winning innings of 62 runs in 40 balls. In view of his strong innings, he was adjudged the player of the match. After the match, Suryakumar thanked New Zealand bowler Trent Boult for dropping his catch.

Actually, Wednesday was the birthday of Suryakumar Yadav’s wife. In such a situation, Suryakumar called the dropping of Bolt’s catch as a big gift from him on his wife’s birthday. Suryakumar Yadav and Boult both play for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and both share a good bond. Suryakumar Yadav said, “This is a big gift from my wife (Trent Boult) on her birthday.”

Rohit Sharma (48), Suryakumar Yadav (62) and Rishabh Pant (17 not out) scored brilliant innings as India registered a win over New Zealand in a thrilling match. Suryakumar Yadav, who came at number three, shared 59 runs for the second wicket with his captain. Both Suryakumar and Rohit were performing brilliantly and it looked like they would finish the match, but it did not happen.

Rohit was dismissed by his Mumbai Indians teammate Boult in the 14th over, while Yadav scored his third T20I half-century and was dismissed at a time when India were 144 for 3 in the 17th over. However, the Kiwis were seen making a comeback in the match.

India needed 21 runs from 18 balls in the last three overs. It became a little more difficult for India when Shreyas Iyer and debutant Venkatesh Iyer were dismissed for 5 and 4. But, the innings of Rishabh Pant (17 not out in 17 balls) gave the team a 1-0 lead with two balls to spare.

After the match, Suryakumar said, “I am not doing anything different, I try to bat in the nets the same way that I do on the field. I work very hard in the nets. If I am out, then dressing up. Going to the room and thinking what I could have done better. The ball was coming well on the bat in the match. Although it was a bit slow. I am happy that our team registered its first win here.”
