Surat: Organizing National Games in the city, enthusiasm among the administration and citizens

Organized Table Tennis from 20th to 26th September and Bed Minton competition from 1st to 6th October

The Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium of Surat Municipal Corporation has organized the National Games after years. Till now, entertainment and many programs were organized in this stadium. The Municipal Corporation is also excited about the game being organized in the stadium after a long time. Sports Authority of India officials also inspected the stadium to ensure that there is no problem during the national games at the indoor stadium.

Indoor stadium was built for the purpose of promoting sports in Surat

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium in Eighth Zone of Surat Municipal Corporation was built for the purpose of promoting sports in Surat. However, games were rarely organized after this stadium was built. For the maintenance of this stadium, it was rented for Navratri. Later indoor stadiums were also used for religious events of some political events of different societies.

Table Tennis and Bed Minton Competition will be held in Indoor Stadium

Although the National Games are currently organized in Gujarat, some games will be played in Surat. The table tennis competition will be held from September 20 to September 28 at the Indoor Stadium in Surat. Whereas Bed Minton Competition has been organized from 1st October to 6th October at Indoor Stadium. Surat Municipal Corporation has started preparations for this competition. A few days ago, the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah had organized a meeting regarding the Hindi convention. Then the municipality worked hard to prepare this stadium for the games.

Around 200 NSS and NCC volunteers will be present in the stadium

Sports Authority of India officer Col Rakesh Yadav and Fit India Movement Deputy Director Ekta Bishnoi visited the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium here on Sunday morning to clear any last-minute problems and oversaw the preparations for the 36th national match.

Around 200 NSS and NCC volunteers were present at the stadium during the inspection. Meanwhile, players from other states have started arriving in the city and the draw for the team and individual events will be held today.
