Surat : Mayor’s office of New York City will provide all possible help to Surat merchants to do business in USA

New York City’s start-up ecosystem is worth 16 billion and people from over 150 countries live in New York City

The textile industrialists of Surat, led by Ashish Gujrathi, President of Dakshin Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, visited the Mayor’s office in New York City, USA. During the visit, New York City Mayor Eric Adams was accompanied by his chief advisors Dr. Ingrid Lewis and Dilip Chauhan, Deputy Commissioners of Trade and Investment – Innovation in the Mayor’s Office, and Frank Caron, in charge of International Affairs in the Mayor’s Office, and SBS, New York City Commissioner Kevin Dr. Ingrid Lewis, Chief Adviser to the Mayor of New York City welcomed the Surat delegation and said that his office would provide all possible assistance to all Surat entrepreneurs to do business in USA.

Deputy Commissioner Dilip Chauhan said that the Mayor of New York City is committed to removing any hurdles faced by entrepreneurs in setting up any type of business in the city, be it big or small. The International Affairs Division in the Mayor’s Office coordinates between the international community and the Mayor’s Office. The division seeks to enhance global trade by coordinating with 20 trade commissions, 115 consulates and 12 permanent missions. New York City has a start-up ecosystem of 16 billion and people from more than 150 countries live in New York City.

The Mayor of New York urged the President of the Chamber, Ashish Gujrati, to continue with the protests in the USA. In this regard, Ashish Gujrathi said that if there is a Sister City Agreement between Surat and New York, then important works can be done for the development of trade and industry. He also invited the Mayor of New York City and his team to visit the textile industry in Surat as well as the Surat Diamond Bourse.

When the delegation of South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry is asked by the Mayor of New York City to organize a video conference on various topics like student exchange programme, collaboration in start-ups, collaboration with Fashion Institute of Technology. Cooperation will be given on New York and any other issue, he said.
