Punjab Polls: Long line of leaders of Congress, AAP, SAD is at BJP’s door, soon to join party, Shekhawat’s big announcement

After meeting with former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder, BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has made a big announcement. of BJP Punjab In-charge Shekhawat on Monday Captain Amarinder Singh Said after meeting with, ‘Soon many leaders of Aam Aadmi Party, Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal will join our party.’

Shekhawat said that there is a very long line of leaders of other parties at the door of BJP. This announcement of Shekhawat is going to create a stir in the politics of Punjab. BJP has already included leaders of big parties in many states. The manner in which the BJP had made a dent in the TMC in the 2021 Bengal elections had created a different atmosphere for the state elections. If Punjab Congress, Shiromani Akali and AAP are sabotaged after Shekhawat’s announcement, then surely the election results can be reversed.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat while talking to the media on Monday also talked about the issue of CM face of Punjab. He said, ‘BJP has only one face and that is the face of PM Narendra Modi. It has not been our tradition to enter the electoral fray with CM face. The Parliamentary Board will take a decision about the CM face after the elections.

On how many seats BJP will contest in Punjab, Shekhawat said, “It is too early to say anything about seat sharing, but the situation is no longer the same when BJP contested 23 to 24 assembly seats in Punjab.” Used to do BJP is the national party, which is the largest party in the country and in the world… so whatever decision will be taken, it will be done accordingly.

Shekhawat may have deferred the question of seat-sharing for now, but according to party sources, BJP is likely to contest 70 to 80 of the 117 assembly seats in Punjab. However, it is not yet final which party will contest on how many seats.

On Monday, both Captain and Dhindsa also discussed the alliance’s manifesto during their meeting with top BJP leaders Amit Shah, JP Nadda and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Shekhawat said that we have decided to form a committee, which will prepare a draft about Sikhs, Dalits, farmers and especially OBCs of Punjab, on the basis of which the vision document of the alliance for Punjab elections will be prepared.

Shekhawat’s statement that Congress, AAP and Akali leaders are joining the BJP comes with the results of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections, in which AAP has won 14 out of 35 seats, while the BJP managed to win 12. The worst performance came from Shiromani Akali Dal, which got one seat and Congress managed to win only 8 seats.
