Demand for urea-DAP increased in Rajasthan

quota. In the Kota division of Rajasthan, the fight over fertilizers has started these days even before there is no need for urea-DAP fertilizer at the ground level for the next agricultural field Rabi. After talks with representatives of many farmers and farmers’ organizations, it has come to the fore that the sowing work is in the initial stage, but despite this, due to the demand of farmers, there has been a shortage of fertilizers in the market, so the main reason for this is the need. There is a sense of mistrust among farmers about the promises of politicians regarding the availability of fertilizers at the time. The farmer does not want a solid assurance from the politicians but from the administration about the availability of fertilizers on time. However, it is being claimed by the state government that farmers will not be allowed to face shortage of urea-DAP during the Rabi agricultural season.

Farmers will be provided fertilizers as per their requirement for Rabi crops. In the month of last October itself, the state government has provided 1.67 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 1.09 lakh metric tonnes of DAP to the farmers, while 1.31 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 56 thousand metric tonnes of DAP are available in the state. On the contrary, farmers complain that they are not getting urea and DAP in sufficient quantity from the dealers-marketing societies.

In this regard, Jagdish Kumar, a conscious farmer of Bhiya village of Keshavarayapatan area of Bundi district said that water has been released from the right and left main canal of Chambal for the farmers in Kota and canal area of Bundi district, but now farmers need urea. Not there. At present, the work of sowing of mustard is going on and it is expected to continue for a few more days.

Jagdish Kumar, state convener of the National Youth Organization, which is associated with the propagation of Sarvodayi ideology in rural areas, says that despite the fact that there is no need, the main reason for the demand for urea-DAP in the market is the feeling of distrust towards the government and politicians. It is well settled in the minds of the farmers that due to their vested interests, politicians make promises to provide Urea-DAP which later turns out to be false as farmers do not get enough manure when they need it. One has to stand in a queue for hours and sometimes even then nothing is achieved except the sticks of the police. (talk)
