Strange Case: Instead of ‘dhoti-kurta’, the groom wore ‘sherwani’ and the girl’s side ‘washed’.
Bhopal | Strange Marriage Case : Traditionally, a lot of attention is paid to the traditions at the time of weddings. Many times it is seen that if any one of the two parties ignores the rules, then a ruckus starts in the marriage. One such case has come up from Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. It has been told that there was a ruckus in the marriage at this time when a debate started about the groom wearing a sherwani in the marriage. The dispute between the relatives of the bride and the bridegroom continued to escalate after which people from both the sides allegedly assaulted each other and pelted stones. After the intervention of the police and a lot of persuasion, the matter was somehow pacified.
Dhoti-kurta was demanded in place of ‘Sherwani’
Strange Marriage Case : According to the information given by the police, this incident took place on Saturday in Mangbeda village of Dhamnod police station area of the district. The bride’s relatives asked the groom to complete the marriage rituals by wearing ‘dhoti-kurta’ instead of ‘sherwani’ as per the tribal tradition. Dhamnod police station in-charge Sushil Yaduvanshi told that Sunderlal, a resident of Dhar city, was wearing a sherwani in his marriage, while the bride’s relatives insisted that the wedding rituals be done in a dhoti kurta. There was a heated argument between both the sides regarding this and later both the sides came to fight among themselves.

Strange Marriage Case : After the assault, people from both sides later lodged a complaint with the police, after which the police have registered a case against some people under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Although the groom later told reporters that he had no dispute with the bride’s family, he claimed that some relatives of the bride were among the attackers. The groom said that the dispute started over the dress. I only want action against those who were involved in beatings and stone pelting. However, after the matter calmed down, the police explained to both the parties, after which the bride and groom’s family members reached the city and the wedding rituals were completed.
