Sri Lanka: 32 people are migrating every hour

Colombo. Sri Lanka is going through a severe economic crisis. It has become short of foreign exchange reserves, due to which it is not able to import essential things into the country and people have to fight for essential things. The value of the Sri Lankan currency has also come down drastically, due to which inflation is also increasing wildly there. Sri Lanka is stuck in a vortex from where it will never be able to get out. The citizens there have also come to know about this situation and they are leaving the country for better life and livelihood.

Karu Jayasuriya, chairman of the ‘National Movement for Just Society’, has said that the condition is that 32 citizens are migrating from Sri Lanka every hour. He said more than 500 doctors have left the country in the last eight months at Chilav in Puttalam district.
