Special on the Amrit Festival of Independence: India’s story is India’s own language!

“Sare Jahan Se Achcha Hindustan Hamara”

“I am Hindustani!
On the world map, people call me “India Subcontinent” (subcontinent). I was born on 15 January 1947, then I was called by many names. ‘Bharat’, ‘India’ ‘Hindustan’, ‘Bharatvarsha’, ‘Bharat Khand’, ‘Hind’ and ‘Sone ki Chidiya’ of the days gone by etc. etc. Although before birth I was called ‘Aryavarta’ and even before that ‘Jambu Dweep’. When the British asked us. Since then, our boundary on the world map is like this. In the north- Himalaya Mountains. In the west- Arabian Sea/Pakistan. Formerly – Bangladesh / Myanmar. In the South- Indian Ocean/Sri Lanka. In the North-East- China / Nepal / Bhutan. Afghanistan in the north-west. To the south-east is Indonesia and to our south-west is the Maldives. Today I am the seventh largest country in the world geographically and the second largest in population. I stand like a lion in the Asia continent. “Our culture, civilization and history are as glorious and ancient as our impressive presence on the world map.
