South Africa VS India Tour: South Africa Cricket Board has released the list of series against India. 3 Tests and 3 One Day matches will be played between 26 December and 23 January. The first Test match will be played at Centurion from 26 to 30 December. The second Test match is to be held from January 3 to 7 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. At the same time, the third and final Test match will be played in Cape Town from 11 to 15 January.

The three ODIs against India will be played on January 19, 21 and 23 at Pearl and Cape Town. The first two ODIs will be held in Pearl, while the third match will be played in Cape Town. Indian team can land in South Africa on 16th or 17th.

At the same time, when the national selectors meet for the selection of the cricket team for the upcoming tour of South Africa, there will be a discussion regarding the captaincy of Virat Kohli in the ODI format along with the post of Ajinkya Rahane’s vice-captain in the Test format. Along with this, apart from the place in the Test team of Ishant Sharma, who has played 100 Test matches, the return of experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan in the ODI team will also be an important issue in this selection meeting.

The chairman of the selection committee, Chetan Sharma, Abhay Kuruvilla and Sunil Joshi are watching the Mumbai Test (against New Zealand) here. He will sit with Board President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah to take some decisions, which can have far-reaching implications for Indian cricket.

India have three ODIs to play in South Africa and now the biggest question is whether the country needs two captains in the white-ball (limited overs) format, which could lead to a clash of ideas in the team. Rohit Sharma is already the captain of the T20 team and in view of the 50-over World Cup to be held in 2023, there is talk of having a captain in the limited overs format in the corridors of BCCI.
