Soldiers of India and Malaysia will show their war skills in the difficult jungles

New Delhi. Soldiers of India and Malaysia will show their war skills in the difficult jungles for about two weeks in a military exercise with each other and share their good experiences and strategies. The joint military exercise ‘Harimau Shakti-2022’ between the two armies began on Monday at Pulai in Klang, Malaysia, which will continue till December 12.

This annual training exercise is being conducted between the two armies since 2012. This year, the Garhwal Rifles Regiment of the Army and the Royal Malay Regiment of the Malaysian Army are participating in it. The troops will share the experiences gained in operations with each other, which will help them to plan various operations in difficult forest areas and enhance coordination to achieve the target.

Battalion level Command Planning Exercise (CPX) and Company level Field Training Exercise (FTX) for conventional operations in jungle areas will also be conducted during the exercise.

The joint exercise includes the establishment of a joint command post, joint surveillance centre, air resource expertise, technical demonstration, casualty management and casualty evacuation, apart from battalion level logistic planning.

The two-day exercise will culminate with joint field training exercises, joint war discussions and joint demonstrations. In these, special emphasis will be laid on enhancing tactical skills, enhancing inter-operability between forces and promoting Army-to-Army relations. The ‘Harimau Shakti Abhyas’ will help in enhancing defense co-operation between the two armies which will further strengthen the bilateral ties.
