New Delhi: The Signal Messenger app, a rival of WhatsApp and famous for its privacy policy, is not working worldwide. Signal users in India are neither able to send messages nor make calls. Signal service has been completely stopped and no explanation has been given about when this situation will be normal.

When Signal users opened the app on Monday morning, the app did not open and instead a message appeared that read: “Signal is experiencing a technical problem. We are working hard to restore service as soon as possible.

The company also confirmed the same on Twitter and said, “Guys, wait a bit! Signal is currently down due to a hosting outage affecting parts of our service. We are working to fix it.”

Even in the month of January, the company had to face such problems even when suddenly its downloads have increased. After updating the privacy policy of WhatsApp, people were searching for its option.

After this move of WhatsApp, there was a renewed debate about privacy all over the world. Tesla CEO Elon Musk also insisted on the use of the Signal app. After his two-word tweet ‘Use Signal’, its downloads increased unexpectedly.

Signal app features
You can download this app on operating systems like iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux. Like any other messaging app, Signal lets you send messages, photos, videos or links. Apart from this, you can make audio or video calls in it. Signal has also recently added the feature of group video calls, in which you can add up to 150 people in a video call at the same time.
