prick thorn in the narrative

The present government has now maintained the camaraderie among its supporters through the ability of headline management. The statements of Gadkari and Hosbole are going to pierce that balloon.

Earlier, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari while addressing an RSS function said that India is becoming a rich country of poor people. Later he clarified that his point of view has been misrepresented in the media. However, after him, RSS general secretary Dattatray Hosabole repeated almost the same thing. The country has made remarkable successes on several fronts in recent years, but with that the poor have become poorer, he said. The situation is pathetic in areas like education and health. He also mentioned the rapidly growing economic inequality. Congress has claimed that these statements are the result of its Bharat Jodo Yatra. The Yatra has made such basic questions a top priority on the national agenda. However, whether this is the result of the India Jodo Yatra or not, it has definitely been shown that the people who are very close to the power are also understanding the reality of the country. Understand that they must have been there before, but now they have felt the need to say it publicly, whatever the reason, now. These are the things which pierce the narrative of the present government.

The entire political capital of the present government depends on its ability to see an opportunity in a disaster. In such a situation, if only those close to power start drawing attention to the destruction caused by the disaster, then it can lead to a big change. The present government has now maintained the camaraderie among its supporters through the ability of headline management. The statements of Gadkari and Hosbole are going to pierce that balloon. Perhaps that is why Gadkari must have been under pressure to issue a clarification, otherwise, there was no room for any misunderstanding in what he was heard saying in the video clip. By the way, credit must be given to Rahul Gandhi that he has kept fundamental issues at the center of discussion during the India Jodo Yatra. They have no solution to these problems, it has not come to the fore. Despite this, they have a role to play in bringing such issues to the fore, it must be acknowledged.
