Shinzo Abe’s state funeral was held, protests were also accompanied by drums on the streets.

Tokyo | Shinzo Abe’s funeral : Representatives of many major countries of the world including PM Modi had gone from India to attend the state funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Amidst the controversy over this funeral in Japan, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that it is an honor to have government funds to bear the funeral expenses of the longest serving leader for the country. Let us tell you that people’s opinion was divided regarding the funeral of Abe from the government fund in Japan. People were reacting to it in their own way. On the one hand, where the funeral ceremony was being done, on the other hand some people were protesting against it with drums on the road.

Shinzo Abe’s funeral : Many world leaders, including US Vice President Kamala Harris, Japan’s Crown Prince Akishino, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attended Abe’s state funeral. Abe’s wife Aki, dressed in a black ‘kimono’ (Japan’s traditional dress), arrived at Nippon Budokan Hall with an urn containing her husband’s ashes. The urn was in a wooden box with a cloth wrapped in purple and gold stripes. Defense personnel dressed in white attire took the urn containing Abe’s ashes and placed it on a pedestal decorated with white and yellow flowers. After this, people reached there and paid tribute to Abe.

Shinzo Abe’s funeral : Let us tell you that Abe was assassinated on July 8 when he was addressing a public meeting during the election campaign. Abe was cremated in July at a temple in Tokyo in the presence of very close people. Today his state funeral program has been kept, so that world leaders and their supporters can pay tribute to him. However, hundreds of people took out a march on the outskirts of the city to protest against the funeral.
Some people were seen playing drums and many shouting during this. These people also held placards in which slogans were written against the state funeral. The protesters said that Shinzo Abe did nothing for the common man. However, the government has consistently made it clear that no one was pressured to pay tribute to Abe through a state funeral.
