The team had made it to the playoffs by performing well in the initial matches, but in Qualifier I, Delhi were defeated by Chennai (CSK), and in the second Qualifier II, they lost to Kolkata (KKR). In this way the journey of the team ended in this season of IPL. Delhi’s team looked very emotional after losing in Qualifier II. Many pictures of it became quite viral on social media. Now the team’s senior batsman Shikhar Dhawan has expressed his feelings through a post on Twitter.

Shikhar Dhawan made an emotional post on Twitter on Friday. Dhawan said, he and his team gave their best on the field, but something was missing to reach the final of IPL 2021. Delhi were at the top of the points table in the group stage, but suffered a three-wicket loss against Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 2 and were knocked out of the tournament. Dhawan wrote, “It’s been a good season for Delhi. We gave our all, but unfortunately something is missing. I enjoyed every moment and I am ready for the next season.”

Enrique Norkhia said – ‘Proud of the team’
Meanwhile, Dhawan’s teammate, South African fast bowler Enrique Norkhia has said that he is sad for not winning the IPL trophy, but he is proud of what Delhi has achieved this season. Norkhia did the best this time in the IPL. He played an important role in the team reaching the playoffs by taking 12 wickets in 8 matches. Delhi bowlers performed well in this season, but the batsmen disappointed in the qualifiers, due to which the team missed out on reaching the final.
