SBI (State Bank of India) will launch ‘Dedicated Pension Portal’ for the convenience of pensioners. Pensioners will not have to make rounds to get pension from this portal. This information was given by an official statement on Tuesday. According to the information received, the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DOPPW), the country’s largest bank SBI (State Bank of India), will prepare a ‘Dedicated Pension Portal’ to make the lives of pensioners easier.

Ease of submitting life certificate will also be available

Sessions on Pension Policy Reforms and Digitization related to Pension Disbursement to Central Government Pensioners were organized during the two-day awareness program of Bank Employees at Udaipur, Rajasthan with the objective of sensitizing the officers of SBI. The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions said in a statement that a special session was held on digital means of submission of Annual Life Certificates along with Income Tax matters relating to pensioners. According to the statement, it was decided that urgent efforts are needed to build a unified pension portal by linking the existing portals of DoPPW and SBI to provide seamless services to the pensioners. The ‘face authentication technology’ for digital life certificates may be widely advertised by banks, the statement said. According to the statement, these programs are expected to go a long way in making the life of the pensioners easier.

According to sources, the government may increase the dearness allowance by up to 5 percent. This step will benefit 60 lakh pensioners across the country. An increase in dearness allowance can be announced next month. After this, the increased amount will come in the account of the pensioners.
