Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana (SKAY) 2022
With the aim of promoting decentralized solar power plants, the Rajasthan government has Solar Energy Livelihood Scheme or “SKAY” scheme has been launched. Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana Under this, the government will take the barren/unusable land of the farmers on lease and on that solar power plant will be set up, The rent will be given by the government on the barren unusable land of the farmers. Which farmers can earn good money by installing solar plants on their barren and unusable land. Farmers can earn extra income through this scheme.
Farmers will also get an opportunity to earn money along with electricity for irrigation. For which a portal for the convenience of the farmer and developer of the Agriculture Livelihood Scheme (www.skayrajasthan.org.in) has been developed. Interested farmers of the state can register on this portal to lease their barren/unusable land. Developers can view the details of the land given by the farmers on the portal.

Purpose of Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana
The main objective of launching Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana is to utilize the abundant land resources of the state by giving opportunity to the farmers to lease/rent the barren land on the basis of a predetermined amount for setting up of solar power plant. For which Rajasthan Discoms has developed an online portal. Farmers can register their land for leasing out for setting up power plants through this portal. And the developer of the solar power plant can also register to reach out to the registered farmers. Due to which farmers will get benefit. And their income will increase.
The electricity generated from the solar power plant to be set up under this scheme will be available only to the people of the surrounding area and they will be able to get enough electricity for agricultural work during the day. The barren land of the farmers can be put to good use.

Under the Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana, farmers will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 1180 for setting up a solar plant. Apart from this, the developer of the solar power plant will also have to deposit Rs 5900 as registration fee. When the fees and documents will be deposited on behalf of both the parties. Only then will the verification of the land be done by the discom after scrutinizing the application. Dedicated help desk will soon be set up at the discom level to solve the problems of farmers and developers.
Subsidy for Solar Energy Plant
Under the Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana, a grant of 30% of the total cost will be given to the developer for setting up the solar power plant through PM Kusum Yojana. The state government will also enter into a tripartite contract between the owner of the land, the farmer, the developer and the concerned discom or company to provide protection from risk to both the parties. This will help in protection from risk, solar power generation, reduce pollution level and double the income of farmers.
Farmers got registered on SKAY Portal
Only after the launch of this scheme, there is a good response from the farmers and developers. More than 34621 people have entered this portal so far. Under the Saur Krishi Urja Yojana, 7217 farmers have registered on the portal for setting up solar power plants on their barren land. Along with this, about 753 developers of solar power plants have also registered on the portal.
So far, 14 farmers and 14 developers have also deposited the prescribed fees on the portal. It was informed in the review meeting that the farmers of Alwar and Jaipur districts have shown more enthusiasm in the Solar Agriculture Livelihood Scheme. Out of which three farmers in Alwar district and 7 in Jaipur district have registered their land with prescribed fees. And the land documents have also been uploaded on the portal. After verification of land by the DISCOM officials for these GSS, the process of issuing tender will be started by the DISCOM soon.

- The distance of the registered barren unusable land should be within 5 km radius of the sub-station.
