Sanju Samson got into trouble despite winning, so fined lakhs of rupees

RR Vs PBKS: Rajasthan Royals won by two runs in the match played against Punjab Kings. Despite this victory, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson seems to be in trouble. Action has been taken on Sanju Samson due to slow over rate. Due to this action, Sanju Samson has been fined Rs 12 lakh.

Actually, BCCI has taken very tough decisions in view of slow over rate in IPL 14. The BCCI had made it clear in April itself that any team whose over rate remains slow will have to pay a heavy price. Even after facing a fine of 12 lakhs, Sanju Samson is not going to get relief.

Along with the fine, the captain found guilty of slow over rate may also face a ban of one to two matches. If Sanju Samson is again found guilty of slow over rate, then very strict action will be taken against him, under which he can be banned for at least one match.

The matches were ending late in the last season.

During IPL 13, many matches ended very late. When two matches are to be played in a day, then if the match ends late, then the difficulty of the organizers and the channel holding the telecast rights increases greatly. To solve this, BCCI has implemented very strict rules regarding slow over rate.

However, Sanju Samson is not the only captain to face a fine of Rs 12 lakh this season. Earlier, RCB captain Virat Kohli and KKR-led Eoin Morgan have also been fined Rs 12 lakh each.
