Shefali Verma returns to India from The Hundred League, will prepare for the Australian tour

India’s star female cricketer Shefali Verma has decided to return from The Hundred. Shafali Verma will not play The Hundred’s Eliminator match against Oval Invincibles for Birmingham Phoenix. Shafali Verma has returned to India to prepare for the Australian tour.

The players of the Indian women’s cricket team are gathering in Bangalore before leaving for the Australian tour. Indian players who have participated in The Hundred also have to join this camp. However, after returning from England, these players have been kept in Quarantine. 

Shefali Verma was in England for the last three months. Shefali previously participated in Test, T20 and ODI series against England. After this she started playing The Hundred League. Another Indian player Smriti Mandhana’s team also qualified for the knockout stage of the Hundred, but she returned home to spend some time with her family before leaving for Australia in September.

Shefali played an innings of 76 runs

This tournament was mixed for Verma. She could only score more than 25 runs once, but in this she scored an unbeaten 76 off 42 balls and led her team to victory against Welsh Fire. Due to this innings, his team could reach the next stage. Posting a photo with teammates on Instagram, he wrote, "I really enjoyed playing with this group. Friendship and memories will always be together. All the best to the team for the knockout stage."

Phoenix captain Amy Jones admitted that his passing was a great loss, but the team is deep enough to not miss him. Jones said, "Everyone saw how aggressive cricket she was playing against the Welsh. His passing is a big loss, but we are lucky to have power hitters like Mary Kelly, Thea Brooks and Rhea Fackler. She hasn’t got a chance yet, she has been unlucky."
