Skipper Yash Dhul gave a glimpse of his rare talent with a scintillating century as powerhouse India reached their fourth consecutive Under-19 World Cup final with an emphatic 96-run win over Australia on Wednesday. Yash Dhul played a brilliant innings of 110 runs and shared a game-changing stand of 204 runs with his deputy Sheikh Rashid (94 off 108 balls) as India were bundled out for 290 for five after batting. Later, the Indian bowlers did their part to bowl Australia out for 194 in 41.5 overs. Notably, the upper-class Dhul played another scintillating innings. The pitch was on the slow side, but he swung the strike smoothly, collecting a total of 10 fours and a six, before accelerating to the boundary at will. Yash Dhul is a right handed batsman born on 11 November 2002. He lives in Janakpuri area of New Delhi. Yash has worn the number 22 jersey for the India Under-19 team.

Yash Dhul’s family made many sacrifices to ensure that he moves ahead in cricket and one day makes the entire nation proud. It was Dhul’s mother who saw the spark in young Yash and enrolled him in an academy. When he was just 6 years old, his mother took him to Bal Bhavan Cricket Academy. His entire family was supported to pursue his passion, with his grandfather taking him for training and waiting outside until he was finished. Also, Yash’s father revealed that he worked as an executive with a cosmetic brand and had to leave it to support his ward’s cricket. He made sure that Yash got the best kit and gear from his early days. Talking to TIMES NOW, Yash’s father said that I had to make sure that he gets the best kit and gear to play from an early age. I gave him the best English willow bats. They didn’t just have a bat, I kept upgrading them. We had cut our expenses. My father was an army man. Dhul has good captaincy experience in his bag as he has led Delhi Under-16, Under-19 and India ‘A’ Under-19 teams in the past. Also, he was named the captain of the team for the 2021 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, and was later given the charge of the India Under-19 team for the ongoing World Cup.
