Rumors of fuel shortage in Kashmir, scuffles along with queues of vehicles at petrol pumps…

Srinagar | Kashmir Rumor Petrol/Diesel : There was a lot of discussion in the country regarding the fire at petrol pumps in Sri Lanka. Long queues were seen at fuel stations (petrol pumps) in Kashmir on Thursday to fill fuel in vehicles over rumors of fuel shortage in the country. People even started scrambling to get fuel in their vehicles. Officials said a large number of vehicles were standing in queues at almost every petrol pump, waiting for their turn, causing traffic problems in some parts of the city and at many places in the Valley. Police and traffic police officers were seen controlling the movement of vehicles at some fuel stations. A police officer said that there were some minor disputes and the issues were resolved comfortably.

An IOCL official even tweeted

Kashmir Rumor Petrol/Diesel : A rumor that started on social media that the country was facing fuel shortage led to long queues of vehicles outside fuel stations. A senior marketing officer of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) even tweeted to allay the fear of the people. Even after this, however, to no avail. People were not ready to accept and understand anything.

IOCL said – there is sufficient availability of the product

Kashmir Rumor Petrol/Diesel : IOCL’s Marketing Director tweeted, “Dear esteemed customers, we reiterate that there is adequate availability of the product in the country. The supply to the retail shops is being met as per the demand. We request that there is no need to panic. We are fully committed to serve you without any interruption at all times.
