Cyclonic storm is heading towards Andhra

Visakhapatnam/Bhubaneswar/Kolkata. The threat of Asani, the first cyclonic storm of this year, is receding. Its speed has slowed down and its path has also changed. Now it has turned towards Andhra Pradesh. There is less chance of it hitting the coast in Odisha or West Bengal. However, there is a risk of damage from this in Andhra Pradesh. Red alert has been sounded in many districts and school examinations scheduled for Wednesday in those areas have been cancelled. Flights from Visakhapatnam airport remained closed on Wednesday as well.

According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclonic storm Asani will hit the coast between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada. During this there is a possibility of very heavy rain and winds can go up to 80 kilometers per hour. An alert has been sent to the people living in low-lying areas. The storm has also moved towards Bengal and Odisha but its speed has reduced. Therefore, red alert is going on in many districts of Andhra, while yellow alert has been issued for Bengal and Odisha.

The effect of the storm will also remain in Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. According to the Meteorological Department, from May 11 to 13, there will be rain in these states, along with strong winds. However, due to the storm in Andhra Pradesh, disaster management forces have been kept on alert in many states. State Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy took stock of the situation by video conferencing with the collectors of the coastal districts. A red alert has been sounded in Andhra’s coastal districts of Guntur and Krishna districts. Intermediate examinations to be held on Wednesday were postponed after the red alert.
