Sushil-Preeti Yadav of Sitapur had a child

The parents of the parasitic twin who has undergone surgery are residents of Chirasi village in Sitapur’s Kamalapur area. Father’s name is Sushil and mother’s name is Preeti Yadav. On August 25, 2021, the couple gave birth to this parasitic twin. Everyone was surprised to see that. Following which, Sushil-Preeti took their child to the local doctors. From where he was referred to KGMU.

MRI detects parasitic twins

JD Rawat, Head and Professor, Department of Pediatric Surgery, KGMU, said, “When this child came to us, I was also surprised to see it. Because, such cases are rarely seen.

However, I had done three such operations before. So, I first got the baby MRI done.” He said that “the MRI revealed that the baby’s back was attached to a parasitic twin. Who has arms, legs and waist, but no head.

The surgery was done on November 3

Dr. JD Rawat told that “Me and my team members together performed the surgery on this child on 3rd November. After operating for about 2 hours, we separated the parasitic twin. This parasitic twin along with the lower spine and nerves. was connected.” He said that on Tuesday the child was discharged safely and in a healthy condition.

One in five lakh children is a parasitic twin

Professor JD Rawat told that “Such cases are rarely seen. If we talk about the operation of parasitic twin children in KGMU, so far only 5-7 surgeries have been done. In which this is the third surgery done by me.” Dr. JD Rawat said that one in five lakh children is a parasitic twin.
