PAK vs NZ: Pakistani minister claims – New Zealand canceled tour under international conspiracy

New Zealand Canceled Pakistan Tour: The New Zealand cricket team decided to cancel the tour just before the start of the first ODI against Pakistan in Rawalpindi. According to the Express Tribune report, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Friday that the tour has been canceled due to an international conspiracy. Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Ahmed said he would not name the conspirators. However, he said that after what is happening in Afghanistan, some forces want to make Pakistan a scapegoat.

According to the Geo TV report, hours after the Kiwi team canceled the tour of Pakistan, Ahmed said that the New Zealand authorities do not have concrete evidence of the threat in Pakistan. Ahmed said that New Zealand made a unilateral decision to cancel the tour of Pakistan despite tight security arrangements in the country for the visiting team.

A statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that New Zealand Cricket has decided to cancel the tour of Pakistan citing a security alert. The PCB said, “Today New Zealand Cricket informed us that they have been alerted to some security alerts due to which they have decided to postpone the unilateral series.”

At the same time, the newly appointed chairman of PCB, Rameez Raja, targeted New Zealand Cricket for canceling the tour citing security at the last minute. Rameez warned New Zealand Cricket that he would take up the issue with the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Let us inform that the New Zealand team was to play the first match of the three-match ODI series against Pakistan in Rawalpindi from today, after that they had to play a five-match T20 series in Lahore. New Zealand’s team came to Pakistan after 18 years, but they canceled the tour without playing a ball.
