Rahul Gandhi had sought permission from the government to visit the families of victims in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence in UP, which he has not received. Regarding this, Lucknow Police Commissioner DK Thakur said, “If Rahul Gandhi comes to Lucknow, we will request him not to go to Lakhimpur Kheri and Sitapur at the airport itself.

Lucknow Police Commissioner D.K. Thakur said that, “Rahul Gandhi had sought permission from the government to go to Sitapur and Lakhimpur but we have got information that permission has been denied. Have also told the Delhi airport authorities not to let them come.” Please tell that the administration has imposed Section-144 in Lucknow.

At the same time, Rahul Gandhi said in a press conference that, “For some time the farmers of the country are being attacked by the government. Farmers are being crushed under the jeep. He is being murdered. No action is being taken against the son of a BJP minister.” He said that today we will go to Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh along with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi to understand the situation there and support the families of farmers.

Regarding the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri and the detention of Priyanka Gandhi in Sitapur, Rahul Gandhi said that India used to be a democracy earlier, but now there is a dictatorship. He also alleged that in Uttar Pradesh, criminals are free to roam freely, but the victims are thrown in jail.

Rahul will accompany two chief ministers: Rahul Gandhi told reporters that he would go to Lakhimpur Kheri along with Bhupesh Baghel and Channi and try to meet the families of the victims. “Farmers are being crushed under the jeep. But no action is being taken against the BJP minister and his son. Farmers are being systematically attacked.

On the question of alleged tussle with Priyanka Gandhi, he said, “We don’t care about it. Kill us, we have been trained like this in our family. But we are talking about farmers. BJP and RSS have completely captured the structure of this country. All the institutions have been brought under control.

He said, “Yesterday the Prime Minister was in Lucknow but he could not go to Lakhimpur Kheri. The post-mortem of those who died in this violence is not being done properly. Today we will try to meet those families by going to Lakhimpur Kheri along with 2 Chief Ministers. Rahul Gandhi said, “Section 144 is applicable in Lakhimpur Kheri, it only stops 5 people, we 3 people are going. We have written them a letter. The job of the opposition is to create pressure so that action is taken.”

On the other hand, in view of the exercise of going to Lakhimpur Kheri by the opposition parties, the minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, Siddharth Nath Singh said, “Lakhimpur you have to go, you will leave after a few days. You meet the bereaved families, there is no objection in this but to disturb the atmosphere is not allowed and this action is being taken under the law.
