Nainital. Mild tremors of earthquake have been felt in Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts of Uttarakhand on Saturday evening. The epicenter of the earthquake was at Kapkot in Bageshwar. According to information received from Bageshwar District Disaster Management Center, the tremors of the earthquake were felt at 3.47 pm today. Information about its intensity is not yet available. Its depth has been 10 km below the surface.
The epicenter of the earthquake is believed to be Kapkot tehsil of Bageshwar district. Apart from Bageshwar, tremors were also felt in Dharchula area of Pithoragarh district. No loss of life or property has been reported from both the places so far. Bageshwar’s District Disaster Management Officer Shikha Suyal said that as per the information received from the tehsils, no damage has been confirmed yet. (talk)
