Quinton de Kock can be blamed! may be out of the tournament, soon the cricket board will take a decision

T20 WC 2021: South Africa’s star batsman Quinton de Kock may face problems. The South Africa Cricket Board (CSA) has taken cognizance of De Kock’s decision to pull out of the match due to ‘personal reasons’. After this decision of de Kock, there are reports of tension in the team. The board had earlier on Tuesday directed its players to kneel down and express their support for the anti-racism movement ahead of the T20 World Cup matches. In a shocking move, de Kock made himself unavailable for selection from the match against West Indies in the ICC T20 World Cup in Dubai on Tuesday. The board said that it will wait for the team management’s report before deciding on the next course of action in the matter.

Cricket South Africa issued a statement regarding this. According to this, “The Board has taken cognizance of the personal decision of South African wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock not to participate in the ‘Kneeling’ before the match against West Indies on Tuesday.” De Kock had hinted not to be a part of the initiative in the past as well, saying, “It should be everyone’s decision, no one should be forced to do anything in life. That’s how I see things.” ” Earlier on Monday evening, CSA unanimously agreed that all South African players will kneel before the start of the rest of the matches. The board directed the players to show solidarity, citing the country’s past of apartheid.

The board said, “As per the CSA board’s directive issued on Monday evening, there is a need for all players to ‘kneel down’ continuously (before every match in the T20 World Cup) in solidarity against racism. It is also a global campaign against racism, adopted by players under the Code of Sports, because they recognize the power of sport to bring people together.” CSA said on the decock, “Before the board takes the next step. The team will wait for another report from the management. All players are expected to follow this instruction for the remainder of the World Cup.”

Different attitude of players on this issue
South African cricketers seem to be divided on the issue, with some players standing with fists instead of ‘kneeling’ before the opening match of the T20 World Cup against Australia, while others kept their hands behind their backs. Were. Fast bowler Enrich Norkia and wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen stood with their hands behind their backs, even as their teammates used different methods to express their support for the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement. On Tuesday, however, both these players were ‘sit on their knees’ with the rest of the team.

Former captain came out in support of de Kock
Supporting de Kock, former England captain Michael Vaughan tweeted, “Surely it is up to the individual to decide whether he wants to join any movement or not. A cricket board has to ask the players to do so.” But if the player does not want to do so, he should not stop playing cricket.” Earlier, the Indian team had also protested against racism by kneeling under the ‘Black Lives Matter’ global campaign before the first match against Pakistan on Sunday.
