Former India cricketer VVS Laxman has praised the captaincy of Virat Kohli. In a conversation with a sports channel, Laxman said that Kohli encourages his players apart from performing well with the bat. He also has a better rapport with the bowlers and that is the quality of a better captain. Kohli is the invaluable captain of Team India. Laxman said that the captain should have mutual trust with the players so that the team can be taken forward and Virat Kohli does this on the field.

Former bowler Irfan Pathan has also praised Kohli’s captaincy. Pathan has described Kohli as the best captain of Team India. After winning the match against New Zealand, he tweeted and wrote, “As I have said before and say again, Virat Kohli is the best Test captain India has ever had! He is on top with a win percentage of 59.09%.”
