Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveils bomb Ashoka Pillar at the new Parliament House

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the National Emblem Ashoka Pillar on the roof of the new Parliament House. This statue of Ashoka Pillar, 6.5 meters high, is made of bronze metal and its weight is being told as 9500 kg. This statue of Ashoka Pillar has been made in several stages. In which there are many steps including sketching, polishing. The Prime Minister also interacted with the workers engaged in the work of the new Parliament. The National Emblem Ashoka Pillar is cast at the top of the central foyer of the New Parliament Building, constructed of steel plate form weighing approximately 6500 kg to support the emblem.

Let us tell you that more than two thousand people have built this pillar of Ashoka, built on the roof of the Parliament House under construction. In this new building of Parliament House, there will be a seating arrangement for 1224 members. The Ashoka Pillar is modeled on the carvings of Sunil Deore, a gold medalist from Aurangabad’s JJ School of Arts and a nationally and internationally recognized sculptor for his work.

PM Modi was accompanied by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Coal and Mines, Mr. Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Mr. Harivansh and others. Dignitaries were also present on the occasion. It is being told that the construction of this building will be ready by the winter session of December 2022 as a new Parliament building.

A release issued by the Prime Minister said that this Integrated Transit Corridor project, built at a cost of more than Rs 920 crore, is fully funded by the Central Government. The main objective of this project will be to help people have easy access to the world class exhibition and convention center to be held at Pragati Maidan. Let us tell you that the underpass built under this project has been provided with facilities like smart fire management, modern ventilation and automated water drainage system, digitally operated CCTV cameras and public announcement system inside the tunnel.
