Prices of LPG cylinders increased again, scissors hit the pocket of common man

Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) increased the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder by Rs 50

The common man will have to pay more for LPG cylinders from Wednesday as Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have increased the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder by Rs 50. With this increase, the common man’s jab has once again been hit with scissors.

According to news agency ANI, the domestic LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 1,053 in Delhi. OMCs also increased the price of 5 kg domestic cylinder by Rs 18 per cylinder. However, the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder came down by Rs 8.50.

In Mumbai, consumers will have to pay Rs 1,052.50 instead of Rs 1002.50 per cylinder, while a consumer in Kolkata will have to pay Rs 1,079 instead of Rs 1,029 for a 14 kg cylinder. In Chennai, a customer will have to spend Rs 1068.50 instead of Rs 1,058.50 earlier.

Earlier on May 7, the price of domestic cylinder was increased by Rs 50. A few days later, on May 19, an increase of Rs 3 was made again.

The development comes after the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was cut by Rs 198 in Delhi last week. The latest price hike of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder will put pressure on the household budget.

In the last one year, the domestic LPG (LPG) cylinder rate in Delhi has increased from Rs 834.50 to Rs 1003. The hike in the prices of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders in recent months has attracted criticism from opposition parties.
