Is Fadnavis a compliment or a taunt?

NCP leader and former deputy chief minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar pointed to a coincidence about the state’s new deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. He said that he considers Fadnavis to be the luckiest leader as Fadnavis has held three terms in the current assembly’s tenure of two and a half years. He first became the Chief Minister of the state, then became the Leader of the Opposition and now became the Deputy Chief Minister. Fadnavis also did not understand whether Ajit Pawar praised him or took a jibe at him!

When Dhyan Fadnavis became the Chief Minister for the second time, Ajit Pawar took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister with him. After a day or two of taking oath, Pawar again returned with his uncle and all the NCP MLAs had also returned home, after which Fadnavis had to resign. After that he became the Leader of the Opposition. As Leader of Opposition, Fadnavis worked tirelessly for two and a half years and brought down the government of Uddhav Thackeray.

After Thackeray’s resignation, Fadnavis was receiving congratulations and he seemed set to become the chief minister. But in the end he had to become Deputy Chief Minister under Eknath Shinde, who had worked as a minister under him. Then Ajit Pawar’s gesture was less praise and more sarcasm. However, such was the fate of Ajit Pawar as well. He also took oath as Deputy Chief Minister in October 2019 and resigned. Then became Deputy Chief Minister in November 2019 and now the Leader of Opposition has become.
