New Delhi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday remembered the supreme sacrifice of the Indian Army on the occasion of 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas and said that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, PoK is an integral part of India. Rajnath Singh further said in a questioning tone – how is it possible that Baba Amarnath is in India and Mother Sharda Shakti is across the Line of Control (LoC)?
Referring to Sharda Peeth, Rajnath Singh said – A resolution has been passed in Parliament on PoK. Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was a part of India, is and will remain a part of India. How can it be that Baba Amarnath is with us in the form of Shiva and Maa Sharda Shakti is on the other side of the LoC? Significantly, Sharda Peeth is a temple of Hindu Goddess Saraswati, also known as Sharda.
At a function organized on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas in Jammu, Rajnath Singh said that today’s India is one of the most powerful countries in the world as compared to 1962, when China occupied our territory in Ladakh. Rajnath Singh said- China occupied our territory in 1962. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was our Prime Minister at that time. I will not question their intentions. The intentions may be good, but it does not apply to policies. However, today’s India is one of the most powerful countries in the world, he said.
He spoke to the family members of the security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty in Jammu. Rajnath Singh said – Remember those who sacrificed their lives in the service of the country. Our army has made the supreme sacrifice for the country. I salute many of our brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the 1999 war. The Kargil War was fought between May 8, 1999 and July 26, 1999 against Pakistani infiltrators who infiltrated Indian territory across the Line of Control in the winter of 1998.
