PM Modi to inaugurate power plant and greenfield airport in Arunachal Pradesh, state to get first airport

Prime minister Narendra Modi Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu Responding to the request of the 600 MW Kameng Hydro Electric Project and the opening of a greenfield airport. This is Northeast India’s largest power plant and the region’s first greenfield airport at Itanagar, officials said on Friday.

An official in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said that Khandu had apprised Modi about the Kameng Hydro Electric Project, in which the state-owned North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) An estimated cost of around Rs 8,000 crore and greenfield airport was reported by the Govt. It was started by the Airport Authority of India at a cost of Rs 650 crore.

This project will prove to be a boon for the country

The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister that the 600 MW hydroelectric project is the biggest in the North-East region and will prove to be a boon for the country. The Chief Minister said that the Director General of Civil Aviation has issued the necessary license for operation of the Greenfield Airport, which was recently renamed as Doni Polo Airport by the State Government, on 7th September.

Doni Polo Arunachal Pradesh’s first airport

He said that Doni Polo airport is the first airport in Arunachal Pradesh which has the capacity to land large aircraft. “With the commissioning of this airport, Arunachal Pradesh will be directly connected to New Delhi,” Khandu said. The Doni Polo airport at Itanagar will be the third airport in Arunachal Pradesh and the 16th airport in the Northeast after Pasighat and Tezu airports.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Shanghai Summit (SCO) On Thursday, Uzbeks arrived in the city of Samarkand to participate in the event. Other leaders including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will also attend the SCO annual summit. Prime Minister Modi is visiting Uzbekistan at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Uzbekistan is the current chair of the SCO.
