Anshu Malik is the first Indian woman to win silver

19-year-old Anshu Malik is the first woman wrestler to win a silver medal in the World Wrestling Championship and the fifth woman wrestler to win a medal. Earlier, Geeta Phogat (2012), Babita Phogat (2012), Pooja Dhanda (2018) and Vinesh Phogat (2019) have won bronze medals at the World Championships. On Thursday, young Anshu Malik had to be content with a silver medal in the 57kg final against 2016 Olympic champion Helen Lucy Maroli. Anshu had to seek medical help immediately after the match and tears were visible in his eyes.

Sarita Mor won bronze medal

Wrestler Sarita Mor won the bronze medal in the World Wrestling Championship on Thursday. Sarita Mor defeated Swedish wrestler Sarah Lindborg 8-2 to win the bronze medal in the 59kg category. She is the sixth Indian female wrestler to have won a bronze medal at the World Wrestling Championships.
