Petition against Yogi Adityanath dismissed

Prayagraj. The Allahabad High Court has filed a complaint against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for allegedly making objectionable speeches during the election campaign in Alwar district of Rajasthan in 2018. The petition seeking to pass a direction to register was dismissed on Friday.

Justice Samit Gopal dismissed the petition filed by a person named Naval Kishore Sharma of Mau district, saying that this court did not have jurisdiction to hear the matter. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the petitioner. According to the petitioner, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had made a speech during the election campaign in Alwar district of Rajasthan on November 23, 2018, which according to the petitioner was objectionable and his religious sentiments were hurt by that speech.

Earlier, the petitioner had filed a complaint in this regard in the district court of Mau which was dismissed by the trial court. Thereafter, she filed a revision petition in the Court of Session and it was dismissed.

The petitioner had filed a petition in the High Court against the decision of the lower courts in which he had requested the court to pass a direction to file a complaint against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. (Language)
