Peru’s new president selects 16 ministers, asks them to take anti-corruption oath

Lima. Peru’s new President Dina Boluarte on Saturday swore in a new cabinet just three days after becoming the country’s first female head of state and asked each of her ministers to pledge not to commit corruption. Pedro Castillo was removed from the presidency of the country on Wednesday.

After this, Boluarte, who was serving as the Vice President, was made the President. He selected 16 ministers for the cabinet, which will play a key role in handling or worsening the situation in the South American country facing a political crisis.

Boluarte swore in his ministers at a time when many in Peru are demanding that he should resign and that general elections should be held in the country. Boluaarte (60) on Saturday asked the eight men and eight women in the cabinet to take an oath to carry out their duties “loyally and honestly without corruption”.
