People still recognize me as ‘Om’ of Star Plus’ popular show ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’- Kiran Karmarkar

How do you feel about the rerun of your famous show Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki?

I am glad that our show is back again, starting this 2nd August, every Monday to Sunday, from 3:30 to 4:30, viewers will be able to watch it daily on their television screens. It is a matter of great pride for me that our show is still remembered by people and it is now returning on National Television after 14 years. There could not have been a better place than this show to start again. This show has become a part of my identity. People still recognize me as ‘Om’ from ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’. I feel great to be a part of it and it will be interesting to see its return which has created history in the Indian television industry.

What changes do you see in the television industry before and now?

A decade ago everything was very different, the acting, the shoot pattern, the technique and it used to be a little slower than it is now. The story used to be very simple and the show used to live up to its title.

Any plans to watch the show with your friends and family? Also, are you still in touch with your artists?

No plans yet. Most of us are still in touch, we even meet each other occasionally. Still my bond with Sakshi Tanwar and Ali Asghar is very good. Being glamorous was not so popular before. Earlier everything seemed so easy and now it is a very overwhelming experience for everyone. So, I think it has connected us on a personal level and created such an unbreakable bond of friendship. I have known Ali Asghar since the year 1996, and now it has been almost 3 decades of our friendship. We didn’t know that after ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’ we would get so much recognition.
