Union Minister of Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav was also present on this occasion.   1. Prime Minister Modi on Saturday 5G Telephony Services Due to which the era of ultra high speed internet on mobile phones has started. PM launched 5G services in select cities at Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022. These services will be gradually made available across the country over the next few years.

We focused on 4 pillars and in four directions simultaneously. First- the price of the device. Second- digital connectivity. Third- the cost of the data. Fourth and most important – the thinking of digital first.
  5. The PM said, ‘New India will not remain only as a consumer of technology, but India will play an active role in the development and implementation of that technology. India will play a big role in designing and manufacturing the wireless technology of the future.
  6. PM Modi said, ‘In the time of 2G, 3G, 4G, India was dependent on other countries for technology. But with 5G, India has created a new history. With 5G, India is setting a global standard in telecom technology for the first time. India is leading. Today every person using the Internet is understanding that 5G will change the entire architecture of the Internet.
  7. They said, ‘We worked on digital connectivity. The more people who join it, the better. By 2014, 60 million people were connected to broadband connectivity. Now it has become 80 crores. Talking about internet connection, this figure was 25 crores, which is now reaching around 85 crores.
  8. The Prime Minister said, ‘Our government is working on the goal of “Internet for All”. With increasing digital connectivity, the cost of data is equally important. This was the third pillar we worked on. We removed all the bottlenecks in the telecom sector. This brought down the prices of data and led to a data revolution in the country.
  9. He said, ‘Today go to a local market or in a vegetable market and see. Even a small street vendor will ask you to do UPI instead of cash. This change explains how thinking becomes empowered when convenience is accessible. The PM said, ‘The revolution the country is witnessing in the telecom sector. It is a proof that if the government works with the right intentions, it does not take long to change the intentions of the citizens.
