Pakistan made changes in T20 World Cup team, included these players including former captain
Sarfaraz Ahmed, Fakhar Zaman and Haider Ali included Pakistan T20 Squad: The Pakistan Cricket Board has made three changes in the 2021 T20 World Cup squad. In this, former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, Fakhar Zaman and Haider Ali were included in place of Azam Khan, Mohammad Hasnain and Khushdil Shah. Let us inform that after the resignation of Misbah-ul-Haq, former spinner Saqlain Mushtaq has been made the interim head coach. According to an earlier announcement, former Australia batsman Matthew Hayden and former South African pacer Vernon Philander will be the team’s batting and bowling consultants for the T20 World Cup. The deadline for team changes is October 10.
Let us tell you that many former Pakistan cricketers including Rashid Latif and Shoaib Akhtar had demanded many changes in the team announced on 4 September. Pakistan will start their World Cup campaign against India on 24 October.
The Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement, “Keeping in mind the performance and rhythm of the players, the selectors have made three changes. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Haider Ali have replaced Azam Khan and Mohammad Hasnain respectively, while the reserve player, Fakhar Zaman, has been kept in the reserve, while Khushdil Shah has been kept in the main team.
The PCB further said, “The decision on the inclusion of Sohaib Maqsood in the team will be taken after medical advice. The top-order batsman has not been able to play in the National T20 tournament after October 6 due to lower back pain.”
Chief selector Muhammad Wasim said his performance was considered before making changes to the domestic T20 tournament. “After reviewing the players’ performance in the highly competitive National T20 and in consultation with the team management, we have decided to include Haider Ali, Fakhar Zaman and Sarfaraz Ahmed in the squad for the T20 World Cup 2021,” he added.
He further said, “These three players running in rhythm bring with them a wealth of experience and talent. Their arrival will give stability, balance and strength to the team.”
Pakistan’s 15-man squad: Babar Azam (capt), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Asif Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Wasim Jr., Sarfraz Ahmed (wk) )), Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sohaib Maqsood.
Reserve players: Khushdil Shah, Shahnawaz Dahani and Usman Qadir.
