Before the festive season, Amazon removed more than 1 lakh seasonal job vacancies, check details

E-commerce firm Amazon has said that it has created more than 1 lakh 10 thousand seasonal employment opportunities in its operational network ahead of the festive season. These opportunities include direct and indirect jobs in many cities of India like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Chennai.

Most of these new hirings join Amazon’s existing network of associates, where they will support them to efficiently take, pack, ship and deliver orders efficiently. New hiring also includes customer service associates, some of whom are part of the virtual customer service model that offers the convenience of working from the comfort of home.

Amazon will create 1 million new jobs in the country by 2025

Let us tell you that these new jobs are in addition to the 8000 job opportunities that were recently announced by Amazon earlier this month during its first career day in India. According to Akhil Saxena, VP of Customer Fulfillment Operations, Amazon, “During the festive season, customers across the country rely on Amazon for safe, reliable and fast delivery of their shopping orders.” “The additional workforce of over 1 lakh 10 thousand will help us strengthen our supply, delivery and customer service capabilities, and drive an exceptional customer experience. Saxena said that thousands of people will get an opportunity to earn a livelihood by hiring.

Saxena adds, “With diversity, equality and inclusion being at the heart of all our people’s efforts, we welcome associates from all walks of life to bring us a joyous festive season for our customers and vendors across India. To help deliver the season.”

Employment opportunities are being created for the handicapped and women.

The company is working towards creating opportunities for underrepresented people such as people with disabilities, women, military veterans and the LGBTQIA+ community. This year, Seasonal Hiring further strengthened its inclusive workforce by adding 50 percent more women, nearly 60 percent more people with disabilities, and more than 100 percent increase in LGBTQIA+ representation from last year.

Amazon expands its fulfillment and delivery network in 2021

Let us tell you that in 2021 Amazon India expanded its fulfillment and delivery network and now has more than 60 fulfillment centers in 15 states, sort centers in 19 states, more than 1700 Amazon owned and partner delivery stations, close to 28,000′ I Have Space’ partner and thousands of Amazon Flex delivery partners.

On the other hand, rival company Flipkart recently said that it is creating direct seasonal employment opportunities for more than 1 lakh 15 thousand people this year, of which 15 percent are for women and differently-abled.
