Team India would like to do a ‘clean sweep’ of New Zealand today, reserve players may get a chance

[ad_1]

IND vs NZ 3rd T-20: Despite winning the first two matches against New Zealand, captain Rohit Sharma will not give up his aggressive attitude, but today the reserve players can be given a chance in the third and last T20 match. The bilateral T20I series is losing its sheen due to several private leagues across the world, but winning this series after a poor show in the World Cup will heal India’s wounds.

Kiwi team reached the brink of defeat by 0-3

On the other hand, this match is just a formality for the New Zealand team, which has played five matches within two weeks since the World Cup semi-final. Due to such a brutal schedule and the absence of captain Kane Williamson, the Kiwi team, which was on the verge of defeat by 0-3, would have been humiliated but the outcome of the bilateral series does not matter that much. The Indian team has won the series after winning in Jaipur and Ranchi but there can be no better place than Eden Gardens to do a ‘clean sweep’. This is Rohit’s first series as full-time T20 captain in which he won both the toss first. This helped in taking advantage of the situation and the bowlers and batsmen did well.

Venkatesh Iyer can be bowled

Rohit had scored 264 runs in one-day cricket at the Eden Gardens itself and winning the first series 3-0 as captain here would be gold for him. Coach Rahul Dravid will be helped to adapt to his new role after such a spectacular win. Within a week of this, the Test series against New Zealand is going to start. Rohit and Dravid would now like to test the reserve players by giving them a chance. In case the sixth bowler is selected, Venkatesh Iyer can be made to bowl as the winds from the Hooghly river will give him extra swing. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Avesh Khan and Ishan Kishan will be hoping that the captain will give them a chance in this match. Gaikwad, who was an orange cap in IPL, can bat at any of the first three places. For this, captain Rohit or vice-captain KL Rahul will have to sit outside. It would be accurate to drop Rahul as he has to play a Test series after four days. Similarly, Avesh Khan can be fielded in place of Deepak Chahar or Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Yuzvendra Chahal can play in place of Axar Patel or Ravichandran Ashwin. Ishan Kishan can be given a chance in place of Rishabh Pant, who is playing continuously from the World Test Championship.

Match will start at 7 pm

The biggest achievement of this series was the form of Ashwin, who bowled economical in both the matches, taking two and one wicket for 23 and 19 runs respectively. He has become a contender for the ‘Player of the Series’ award even though he was not included in the limited overs team for four years. The problem for New Zealand is between the 15th and 20th over in which their batsmen are not able to score runs fast. The Eden Gardens have been the batsmen’s haven and the team batting later in November will find it easier because of the dew. The match will start at 7 pm.
