Omicron Variant News: Scientists have found such cases of infection with Coronavirus in many countries in which the Omicron variant also has a changed form. That is, now Omicron has also become of two types, one has 50 mutations while the other has few and different mutations. Due to the differences found between the original Omicron and the new version, the original Omicron is numbered BA1 while the new Omicron is being identified with the BA2 number.

Some scientists are calling Omicron’s new line a ‘stealth’. Stealth means stealth i.e. this variant is not caught. In the RTPCR test, it is known that there is a corona infection, but the genetic source that scientists look for to detect Omicron is completely absent in BA2. The difference is that Omicron cannot be tracked. It will be known whether someone has corona, but whether it is an Omicron infection or not, it will be very difficult to know. Apart from this, it has also been found that how infectious and effective BA2 is.

Cases of stealth Omicron have been found in South Africa, South Korea, Australia and Canada. It is almost impossible to know the true picture of the stealth omicron until genome sequencing of more and more cases is done. The question of why, how and where Stealth Omicron came from is also unresolved. British scientists say that the split of Omicron is a matter of concern because now tracing and testing has become a huge challenge.

India’s position

Cases of Omicron variants have been reported in India in many big states of the country and their number is sure to increase. Based on a mathematical model, IIT Kanpur has predicted a third wave due to Omicron variants in the country in January and February. The institute has also estimated its delta variant to be lighter than the second wave. It has said that if current vaccines do not prove effective against Omicron at all, then during the peak of the third wave there could be 1-1.5 lakh daily cases. Now the Indian Medical Association has also warned of a third wave. By the way, at least 23 confirmed cases of Omicron have been found so far. Now some measures have been started to stop their expansion.
