Google Pixel: Years after launching its flagship Pixel 3 in India, Google has confirmed that it is all set to bring its next generation phone Pixel 7 series to India. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be available on Flipkart, which you can order online.

The company tweeted, “Our heartbeats are fast because the wait is almost over! Pixel 7 Pro and 7 are coming to India soon.”

Pixel 3 series was launched in 2018

After the Pixel 3 series in 2018, Google stopped production of mainline Pixel phones in India. Pixel 4, Pixel 5 and Pixel 6 were never introduced in the country.

Will launch on 6th October

However, the company has released some A-series models such as Pixel 3a, Pixel 4a and more recently Pixel 6a in the country. A recent report states that the Pixel 7 will come with a 6.3-inch display, which means it will be slightly smaller than the 6.4-inch screen available on the Pixel 6. On October 6, the company will launch this series. According to a tipster, the new chipset will use the same CPU as the original Tensor.

Google will discontinue Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G

Amidst reports of new Pixel smartphones, tech giant Google has indicated that its current flagship Pixel 5 will be discontinued along with Pixel 4a 5G. According to The Verge, both are currently sold out on Google’s online store, and remaining stock at other retailers is unlikely to last long.

“With our current forecast, we expect the Google Store to sell the Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 in the US in the coming weeks following the launch of the Pixel 4a 5G,” a company spokesperson told the tech website. These products will continue to be available through certain partners while supplies run out, the spokesperson said.

Reportedly, it is not too surprising that the 4A5G is being discontinued, as the 5A 5G seems to be quite a direct successor. However, it is a bit unusual to see that the Pixel 5 has been turned off well before the Pixel 6 arrived. Recently, Google announced that it has developed its own custom-made chip to power the next generation Pixel 6 smartphone that will hit the market later this year.
