Excise duty was reduced before Diwali
According to the website of IOCL, today the price of 1 liter of petrol in New Delhi, the capital of the country, is Rs 103.97 and the price of diesel is Rs 86.67. Let us tell you that before Diwali, the central government had reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel, after which petrol became cheaper by Rs 5 and diesel by Rs 10 per liter. After this move of the central government, 22 states and union territories of the country including Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka also cut VAT on fuel.
