In the video leak case of Chandigarh, the protest of the girl students continues. In this case so far the student who made the video and her boyfriend to whom she used to send the video have been arrested. Meanwhile, a new information has come out. Students of Chandigarh University have alleged that two girls have gone missing.

The girl students say that two girls are missing. The protest will continue till they are presented in front of the girl students. Let us tell you, in the video leak case, it is also being claimed that after the incident of leaking the video of the girl students, they also tried to commit suicide. However, the university officials called these reports false and baseless is rejected.

Earlier on Sunday, there was a ruckus among the students in the university. On the other hand, the police said that preliminary investigation has revealed that a student living in the hostel shared her own video with a man from Himachal Pradesh and the role of that person is being investigated.

‘Many rumors are spreading on social media regarding the matter’

Police said a case has been registered under Section 354C of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act and the student has been arrested. After the incident, Punjab’s Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Gurpreet Dev, Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Vivek Sheel Soni and other top officials including GPS Bhullar and senior officials of Mohali district administration including Deputy Commissioner reached the university campus to take stock of the situation. ADGP Dev told reporters in the university campus that many rumors are spreading about the matter on social media.

He said that four thousand girl students live in the hostel and the police have arrested one of them. He said that his phone is in the possession of the police and the state cyber crime branch is investigating.

Dev said, the other part of the case is that a group of girl students in the hostel saw the accused doing something which was objectionable. Being the additional DG and holding the charge of women and child rights department, I was entrusted with the responsibility of interacting with the girl students as a lot of rumors are being spread about this matter.
