Neeraj Chopra now eyes breaking Olympic record, will start training soon

Neeraj Chopra is the first athlete from India to win a gold medal in the Olympic Games. After creating history in Tokyo, Neeraj Chopra is eyeing to break the Olympic record. Neeraj Chopra wants to break the record of javelin throw held by Andreas Thorkildsen in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. With this Neeraj Chopra is going to start preparation soon. 

Andreas Thorkildsen won the gold medal in Beijing in 2008 with an effort of 90.57m, which is an Olympic record. Neeraj said that it will be a wonderful experience to achieve this feat. Neeraj Chopra said, “Olympic gold medal is at the top. But in athletics, there is one more thing you can add to your gold medal and that is an Olympic record.”

Neeraj Chopra now wants to go a step further. The star athlete said, “The national record is in my name with 88.07 meters while the Olympic record is 90.57 meters. If I could go one step further, it would have been a gold medal with a personal best performance and an Olympic record.”
