NCP made it clear, said – Sharad Pawar is not in the race to become President…

Mumbai | NCP Sharad Pawar President: There has been a lot of speculation about next month’s presidential election. Since PM Modi’s meeting with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, there was a lot of discussion in the media that his name could also come up for the post of President. Now the NCP spokesperson has made it clear that he is not interested in contesting the elections. However, some opposition parties have supported his candidature in the race for Rashtrapati Bhavan. This is to say of a senior leader of the party. The issue came up for discussion after Pawar’s meeting with NCP ministers in the Maharashtra government here on Monday. The NCP minister, who attended the meeting, said Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh met Pawar on Sunday and reaffirmed his party’s support to the NCP chief for the election of the next President of India. This election is to be held on July 18.

Pawar is a mass leader and he will not limit himself…

NCP Sharad Pawar President: Last week, when senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge was in Mumbai in connection with the Rajya Sabha elections, he pitched for Pawar’s name as the joint opposition candidate for the presidential election. Kharge said the Congress had also consulted the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) regarding Pawar’s candidature. But, I don’t think he is interested in it (contesting elections), the NCP minister said. Saheb (Pawar) is a mass leader and he likes to meet people. He will not confine himself to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
