Chhattisgarh: Naxalites shot dead a police jawan

Raipur. Suspected Naxalites have shot and killed a police jawan in the Naxal-affected Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. Police officials gave this information on Thursday.

Officials said that suspected Maoists shot dead constable Navaru Benzam (32) posted in Rekha Ghati camp near Marikodri village of Mardum police station area of ​​the district. He said that the police came to know that on Wednesday evening constable Benzam along with his family members had gone to Marikodri village to attend a social event.

Police officials said that at around 04:30 this morning, an unidentified person shot and killed Benjamin at the venue behind Marikodar Ashram. He said that Maoists are suspected to be involved in the incident. Mardoom police station has started investigation in the matter. (Language)
