Muslim voters confused by SP’s infighting

Lucknow, The internal ruckus in the Samajwadi Party has increased after the defeat in the Legislative Assembly elections and the recently held Legislative Council elections. After the results, where on one side the uncle of the SP National President Shivpal Yadav is upset. On the other hand, many Muslim leaders including SP leader Azam Khan’s camp and another strong leader Shafiqur Rahman Burke are also showing rebellious attitude. As is well known, the Yadav-Muslim community had put in full force to make the Samajwadi Party (SP) win, but Akhilesh could not return Yadav to power. SP could not win even a single seat in the elections of 36 seats of the Legislative Council held after this.

After the results of both the elections, internal strife started in the SP. Firstly, Shivpal Yadav, uncle of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, expressed his displeasure. After this, rebellious voices started rising from the Shafiqur Rahman Burke and Azam Khan camp. So many Maulana like Shahabuddin have also started talking about looking for a different alternative from SP. Overall, the strife in the SP has put the Muslims of UP on two paths. Now they are not able to decide what to do then what to do?

The political uncertainty spread in the SP’s traditional Muslim vote bank has fed the Congress. On the other hand, Azam Khan has once again started thinking of getting away from SP. If this happens, then the Muslim-Yadav (MY) equation of SP may deteriorate and SP may have to lose its Muslim vote bank. This was indicated by many SP leaders. Azam Khan’s media in-charge Fasahat Ali Shanu has said in a program that in the last two and a half years, Akhilesh Yadav did not make any effort to get Azam Khan out of jail. SP MP from Sambhal Shafiqur Rahman Burke had also said that SP is not raising the voice of Muslims.

After the statements of these leaders, when no statement came from Akhilesh Yadav’s side, on Wednesday, Salman Javed Raine, who is said to be a supporter of Azam, criticized Akhilesh Yadav for not raising his voice for Azam Khan, SP MLA Nahid Hasan and Shahjil Islam. Resigned from SP on question. Whereas ‘MY’ factor is the biggest support of SP’s cycle. It is now under threat.

Even after this, on Thursday, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav did not utter a single word in the press conference regarding the displeasure of Shivpal Singh Yadav, Shafiqur Rahman Burke and Azam Khan camp. While SP chief Akhilesh Yadav knows that the displeasure of the big Muslim faces of SP can weaken the political equation. Still he is silent, so what is the reason for this? Does Akhilesh want Shivpal, Shafiqur Rahman and Azam Khan to leave the party? At present, Akhilesh Yadav and his team members are not answering this question.

Whereas political experts say that Akhilesh Yadav’s silence in this matter will drive away the party’s angry leaders from the party. And this will affect the party’s vote bank. Now it remains to be seen when Akhilesh Yadav, sensing this insecurity among the angry Muslim leaders of the party, takes the initiative to celebrate Azam Khan and Shafiqur Rahman’s work. At present, leaders close to Azam Khan are in touch with Shivpal Yadav. In such a situation, both the leaders can come in one camp in the coming time. If this happens, the SP’s ‘Muslim-Yadav’ vote bank will be affected. In such a situation, Akhilesh Yadav is careless and the Muslim supporters of SP are in a dilemma.
