Under this, its users may now have to verify their identity before making any payment. Only then will they be able to transact. According to media reports, WhatsApp can launch its new version soon. However, nothing has been said about this from WhatsApp yet.

Media reports have said that there may be many changes in the beta version of Whatsapp v2.21.22.6. Not only this, WhatsApp can also start payment service in some other countries of the world. The report also states that identity verification may be required only for those who will receive money for business purposes. Let us know that WhatsApp started the payment service in India in 2020. It was released to all in June 2021. In India, it has to compete with Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay and Amazon Pay.

How is the payment done now?

At present, the facility of WhatsApp Pay is only available in India and Brazil. At present, WhatsApp only verifies the mobile number associated with the bank for payment. Whereas in Brazil, users have to verify the debit or credit card through Facebook Pay. It is also important to know here that among other companies providing UPI (United Payments Interface) service in India, Google Pay and Phone Pay do not ask users to verify their identity. At the same time, companies like Paytm and Mobikwik ask users to do KYC.
